Blubrry Podcasting has launched its artificial intelligence tools as a standalone product, making them available to all podcasters regardless of their hosting provider. The announcement, made on December 9, 2024, marks a significant shift in the company's strategy to expand access to its AI-powered podcast production features.
According to Todd Cochrane, CEO of Blubrry, the company has refined these tools based on user feedback since their initial release in early 2024. The enhanced platform includes features for episode planning, content production, and social media promotion.
The new offering introduces a redesigned user interface focused on streamlining podcast production workflows. Blubrry's AI tools integrate multiple functions into a centralized dashboard, including episode topic planning, transcription generation, and promotional content creation.
Technical specifications of the service include storage provisions for media files, transcripts in SRT/VTT/TXT formats, AI-generated images, and chapter file creation. The platform offers two subscription tiers: a Standard plan at $20 monthly ($200 annually) and a Plus plan at $50 monthly ($500 annually).
The Standard plan provides monthly allocations of:
- 8 productions
- 16 generated episode images
- 32 generated video clips
The Plus plan expands these allocations to:
- 25 productions
- 50 generated episode images
- 50 generated video clips
- Option for 10 additional productions
According to Blubrry's documentation, the AI tools suite comprises four main components:
- Planning modules that generate episode topics and guest questions
- Production features for creating transcripts, titles, summaries, and show notes
- Social caption generation for various platforms
- Video clip creation tools with template options
The company maintains media file storage throughout the subscription period and provides hyperlinked access to generated chapter files. Podcasters can later upgrade to include Blubrry's statistics or hosting services with automated migration options.
This release reflects broader industry trends toward AI integration in content production workflows. While maintaining separate hosting arrangements, podcasters can now access production automation tools previously limited to specific platforms.
The standalone service launches amid increasing demand for efficient podcast production solutions. Blubrry's approach allows creators to retain their existing hosting relationships while accessing AI-powered production tools.
